While Sunday's NFC Championship game was the last football game played at the Georgia Dome, the mayor of Atlanta wants to open it again for fans to watch Super Bowl LI.
Earlier Tuesday, a report by Brandon Leak of ESPN Radio, said mayor Kasim Reed is working on a plan to get the Georgia Dome open for fans to watch the game together.
However, the Georgia Dome responded with some bad news.
"We share your tremendous excitement that the Atlanta Falcons are headed to the Super Bowl," Dome officials said in a statement.
They added: "NFL rules prohibit us from using the Georgia Dome for broadcasting the game. Fans wishing to gather with other fans to watch the game can consider patronizing neighborhood businesses who will be showing the game."
